Preschool and Infant Care in Steger, IL

Leaving a baby or toddler in someone else's hands for the day is not easy. Early Achievers Preschool and Development Center in Steger, Illinois cares for children from 6 weeks old through school age, in a setting that is clean, safe, and built around little ones. Our teachers hold degrees in early childhood education, and our curriculum is designed to be both creative and enriching, so your child spends the day learning instead of just waiting for pickup.

Three Age Groups Under One Roof

Children at Early Achievers Preschool and Development Center are placed in one of three groups: infant, toddler, or preschool. Grouping by age lets teachers match activities to what each child is ready for. An infant's day revolves around care, comfort, and early discovery. Toddlers start building independence and language. Preschoolers take on more structured lessons that lead toward the classroom.

As your child grows, they move from one group to the next without changing centers, teachers they already know, or the building they are used to.

Preparing for Kindergarten

Our goal is to support every part of a child's growth: social, emotional, cognitive, and physical. By the time preschoolers leave us, they have had years of practice following a routine, getting along in a group, and tackling new skills.

That preparation comes through a full mix of activities:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Computer skills
  • STEM and STEAM activities
  • Music
  • Aerobics
  • Sign language
  • Spanish
  • Movie day

Exposure to a second language and to sign language gives young children early experience with different ways to communicate, while aerobics and music help burn off energy.

Field Trips and Outdoor Play

Some lessons are better learned outside the building. Our preschool field trips have included visits to a pumpkin patch and the circus. An additional fee may apply for some trips, and we let families know in advance.

On regular days, children head out to our outdoor play area for fresh air and active play.

Meals, Naps, and Packing for the Day

We provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks, all freshly prepared in our kitchen. Parents supply a few personal items: diapers or pull-ups, a change of clothes, a blanket for nap time, formula, and wipes. Everything else is handled here.

Staying Connected With Parents

Parents should always know how their child is doing. We share each child's development through an annual progress report, and you are welcome to schedule a visit during the day.

When you and your child are ready to start potty training, our staff will help. Working on it together at home and at the center keeps the routine consistent.

Affordable Care for Working Families

We offer affordable rates for working families and accept Illinois Action for Children. Multi-child discounts are available, as are early registration discounts. As a locally owned business, we also thank families who spread the word: when a child you referred enrolls, you receive a gift card.

Children who outgrow preschool can stay with us through age 12. Our before and after school program includes transportation to and from local schools, and our summer camp for school-age children covers the break. You can see every program in one place on the Early Achievers Preschool and Development Center home page.
